Speyside Distillery Cardhu has opened its new visitor centre as part of a nearly £200m investment in Scotch whisky tourism. MJS was involved in the fit-out of three areas that the visitors can enjoy before and after the actual whisky distillery tour: the reception lounge, the Tasting Kitchen and a projection room.

The Tasting Kitchen was designed to look like an aspirational kitchen, complete with white tiles, solid surfaces and copper details. Beautifully simple but detailed wood cabinetry, decorative false fireplace and elegant wall panelling in combination with rich red and yellow accents created a sophisticated but welcoming environment.

All joinery elements were incorporated into the look and feel of this amazing Grade I listed building. With great respect to its original irregular stonework, MJS made sure the building fabrics were well protected, but the new elements fit perfectly.

Interesting history, amazing design, high-end materials and flawless finish. This is what MJS loves the most!
