Client: Northampton Museum and Art Gallery

Location: Northampton, UK

Main Contractor: Realm Projects Ltd

The Link is a new building created to join the two older buildings that make up the Northampton Museum and Art Gallery. The glass building is designed to highlight the historic brick wall of the 1800 gaol building whilst creating a contemporary public space.

MJS had the pleasure of building The Link Café located in the heart of this iconic and spacious atrium. Our scope included partitioning, dry lining, joinery as well as supply and installation of acoustic ceilings and walls.

The modern and airy design of clean and simplistic structures was complimented by vibrant and distinctive coloured details.

A fantastic example of how to showcase and reflect the history and heritage of the building by taking on a contemporary and fresh approach. The Link Café, with its small outside terrace, is definitely a welcome addition to the popular museum.
